About KnapsackPro
Knapsack Pro is a brand that specializes in helping developers optimize their CI builds and run faster tests. It all started in mid-2014 when the founder encountered slow RSpec tests on a client project, which took around 15 minutes to complete. Determined to find a solution, the founder created an open-source Ruby gem called knapsack (inspired by the knapsack problem) to evenly split tests across parallel CI nodes, harnessing the power of parallelism on the CI server.
After seeing the overwhelming response, with about 80 people signing up for the Knapsack Pro beta, the founder began building the product in March 2015. Since then, Knapsack Pro has continuously evolved based on user feedback. One of its standout features, the Knapsack Pro Queue Mode, intelligently splits tests across parallel CI nodes, ensuring each node finishes work at a similar time, eliminating bottlenecks and maximizing the speed of CI builds.
Today, Knapsack Pro has become the go-to solution for developers looking to supercharge their CI build process. With hundreds of users relying on it daily, the impact of Knapsack Pro is evident.
