Knighton Golf Club is a historic golf club founded in 1906, set above the Welsh market town of Knighton on the border with England. Its nine-hole course largely follows the original routing and design by Harry Vardon, the six-time British Open champion and U. S.
Open winner, with only minor changes to the competition tees. The course winds around the upland contours of Ffrydd Wood and includes part of the renowned Offa’s Dyke Path. Though not long, it offers a demanding round, with varied uphill and downhill lies and distinctive holes.
Highlights include the par-five eighth, which incorporates a section of the path, and the 223-yard par-three sixth, known for its “infinity” green. Players can enjoy wide-ranging views, and may spot red kites or upland sheep along the way. The club welcomes visitors and offers membership, with course information and updates available through its website.
After a round, golfers can relax over a sociable drink in the friendly clubhouse
