About Knižní Detektiv
Knižní Detektiv is a Czech online service that helps readers find used books across the country’s second-hand bookshops. Its regularly updated catalogue brings together hundreds of thousands of listings from participating antiquarian bookshops, making it possible to search in one place rather than visiting multiple stores. For each book, users can review availability, compare prices and see offers from individual sellers. When they find a suitable listing, the site directs them to the bookshop’s own online store, without acting as an intermediary.
The catalogue supports searches by book, author and publisher, and includes newly added titles across a broad range of subjects. Knižní Detektiv also offers tools for antiquarian bookshops, presenting market data to help sellers monitor competitors, identify pricing opportunities and use catalogue information in light of actual demand. The project describes itself as free and ad-free, and invites users who find it helpful to support its work with a small contribution.
