KNOM Radio Mission is a Catholic community radio station based in Nome, Alaska, dedicated to serving Western Alaska. With over 50 years of broadcasting experience, KNOM is the oldest Catholic radio station in the United States. We strive to be a faithful friend and companion to our listeners, providing faith, inspiration, news, and engaging community programming.

Covering a vast region that stretches from the Yukon Delta to the Bering Strait, including remote villages, KNOM serves as a vital communications service and a platform for community engagement and conversation. Our diverse programming includes news, hotlines, music, Alaska Native stories and voices, and more. In a region with limited access to priests, KNOM broadcasts Sunday Mass, prayer, and messages of faith throughout the day, embodying our Catholic ideals.

We are committed to embracing the rich culture and traditions of Western Alaska, featuring programs that highlight the strength, depth, beauty, and history of the region. Moreover, KNOM empowers growth by sharing important community messages and stories of hope, courage, and resilience. Join us on the radio waves, where we talk with, not to, our listeners.

Whether it's live events, hotline messages, or special song requests, KNOM engages with our community and provides current events, relevant programs, inspiring messages, weather updates, and upbeat tunes. We value our supporters and friends who make our mission possible and are always grateful for their generous contributions. If you're looking to stay connected with us, join our email list and receive our monthly newsletter, The Nome Static.

We are also currently hiring for a full-time news director and reporter position. Visit our employment page for more information. At KNOM Radio Mission, our mission is to encounter Christ, embrace culture, empower growth, and engage the listener.

We are privileged to serve Western Alaska and bring the beauty of this region to the airwaves
