Welcome to Knox County Health Department, IL! We are dedicated to providing public health services to address everyday and emerging public health issues. Our vision is to have healthy people in a healthy community, and our mission is to serve Knox County by assessing health and environmental needs, developing policies, and effectively addressing those needs. Our dedicated staff works diligently to ensure the day-to-day safety and health of the public.
From conducting restaurant inspections to inspecting water wells and onsite wastewater treatment systems, providing immunizations, testing for STDs and HIV, writing grants, and providing community education, we cover a wide range of services. We also stay vigilant when it comes to emerging issues such as West Nile Virus, COVID-19, and bio-emergency threats, as well as tackling influenza.
