The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (KSO) brings classical, pops, and chamber music to audiences across East Tennessee. Based in Knoxville, it presents a varied concert calendar featuring series such as Masterworks, the Roy Cockrum Chamber Series, the Merchant & Gould Concertmaster Series, Pops, and Q Series, alongside special and community concerts. Audiences can explore season subscriptions, ticket discounts, digital programs, and radio broadcasts, with performances ranging from orchestral programs to chamber music and seasonal works.
Music education and community engagement are central to the KSO’s work. Its programs include Young People’s Concerts, Very Young People’s Concerts, classroom activities, Side-by-Side experiences, Musical Story Time, and Music & Wellness initiatives. The Knoxville Symphony Youth Ensembles offer young musicians opportunities through youth orchestras, a wind ensemble, chamber music, and a youth choir, with additional support through scholarships, a concerto competition, and summer music camp.
The KSO also invites community support through individual and legacy giving, corporate partnerships, and Symphony League activities. It is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
