KoALApflegt is the home-care service of Ambulante Pflege KoALA gGmbH, based in Hamburg’s Altona district. Describing itself as Germany’s first inclusive care service, it brings together team members with and without disabilities to provide respectful, individual support. The organisation builds on more than two decades of community work by KoALA e.V., which has supported participation in local life across Altona.

KoALApflegt offers care and practical assistance tailored to each person’s circumstances, with a focus on dignity, trust and wellbeing at home. Its services include basic personal care, such as help with washing, dressing and meals; relief and individual companionship, including creative and movement activities; and household support for tasks that have become difficult. The service also provides respite care when a regular caregiver is unavailable, for a few hours or longer. Alongside practical care, KoALApflegt helps clients with applications and forms and supports communication with care insurance funds. Its team combines professional experience with a welcoming, inclusive approach for people of all ages.
