About ジョーハク
The Kochi Castle Museum of History, established in 2017 in Kochi, Japan, serves as a vibrant cultural hub for both adults and children to explore the rich history and heritage of Tosa. Nestled at the foot of Kochi Castle, the museum houses approximately 67,000 artifacts related to the Tosa domain and the Yamauchi family, offering visitors an immersive experience through its permanent and seasonal exhibitions. These displays highlight exquisite feudal lord artifacts and significant events from the late Edo period and Meiji Restoration.
In addition to exhibitions, the museum promotes lifelong learning through a variety of programs, including history lectures, seasonal events, and hands-on workshops tailored for both children and international audiences. With its panoramic view of Kochi Castle from the observation lobby, the museum not only preserves and showcases historical materials but also actively participates in community engagement, tourism development, and educational collaboration. Open daily, the Kochi Castle Museum of History is dedicated to sharing the allure of Japanese culture and history with a broad audience.
