Koelekids

Koelekids is the practice of Esther Koele, a play therapist and developmental psychologist in Schalkhaar, offering play therapy for children aged 4 to 12. The service is designed for children who are struggling with emotions, anger, insecurity, or difficult behaviour, especially when talking about their feelings is hard. In a safe playroom, children can use toys and creative materials to express themselves, explore experiences, and work through challenges at their own pace.

Play serves as a child’s way of communicating, helping them practise new ways of responding and build a greater sense of safety. During therapy, Esther supports children as they process difficulties, while they may simply feel that they are playing. Parents may notice that their child becomes better at sharing emotions, managing reactions, solving problems, and coping with stress.

The process can also support more open communication and a stronger connection between parent and child. Koelekids invites parents seeking positive change at home to get in touch through its contact form
