About The Kohima Educational Trust
Kohima Educational Trust (KET) is a registered charity established to provide educational assistance to young people in Nagaland, India. Founded in 2004 by veterans of the Kohima campaign, the Trust honours the courage and sacrifice of those who fought in the Second World War and recognises the Naga people who supported them. Its work connects remembrance with practical support for succeeding generations of Naga children and students.
KET’s projects include educational assistance for villages in eastern Nagaland, bursaries for students of recent Naga heritage pursuing bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees, a mobile teaching unit, a weekly-boarding hostel, school dictionaries and educational workshops. The Trust also supports scholarships and literary initiatives, including the Gordon Graham Prize for Naga Literature and an essay competition in Kohima.
To share the history of the region and the Burma Campaign, KET provides films, webinars, publications and other resource materials, and holds commemorative services and events. Its online shop offers books, DVDs and audio books, jewellery, clothing, bags, handmade cards and other gifts.
