Kommunales Kino Freiburg, known as KoKi, is a film and cultural organization based in Freiburg, Germany. Located in the Old Wiehrebahnhof, it presents a varied cinema program that brings independent, historical, and contemporary films to local audiences. Its offerings include themed series, retrospectives, lesser-known classics, silent-film concerts, and screenings followed by conversations with filmmakers or audience members.
KoKi also hosts festivals and special programs, including the Jewish Film Days Freiburg, the Kurzfilmsause short-film festival, and Trans*topia, which highlights trans experiences and rights. In collaboration with the Documentation Center on National Socialism, its HINSCHAUEN series explores the history of National Socialism and how people engage with that past. Visitors can view the schedule and purchase tickets online, buy printable gift vouchers and a five-visit pass, and subscribe to the newsletter.
The venue also has a café, Barbette, and welcomes supporting members to help sustain its cultural work and the historic station building. KoKi offers free admission to refugees, including children and adults
