KoLa Leipzig

KoLa Leipzig is an organic farming cooperative bringing seasonal produce from its farm near Leipzig to communities in Leipzig, Taucha, Halle and the surrounding area. Its solidarity-based model connects members with local agriculture: members help fund the cooperative and share in its harvest, supporting transparent, fair and environmentally responsible food production.

Members can choose small, medium or large harvest shares, with seasonal vegetables and fruit drawn from more than 50 crops. Shares can optionally include organic eggs, and a two-month trial share lets newcomers try the service before deciding whether to join. Produce is delivered to more than 45 collection points, making pickup convenient. The farm shop also sells fresh, seasonal produce, generally from May through October.

KoLa Leipzig cultivates 35 hectares using organic methods and invests in biodiversity, renewable energy and resource-conscious farming. Its work includes planting hedges and flowering strips, producing solar power and using efficient irrigation. The cooperative also offers farm tours, volunteer workdays, events and educational activities, inviting members and visitors to learn about local, sustainable food production.
