Koníky pre deti, o.z. is a community organisation in Marianka, Slovakia, dedicated to helping children and adults discover the joy of spending time with horses. Founded by Miška and Maroš, who have several years of experience with horses and working with children, the organisation focuses especially on introducing young children, from age three, to horses and nature. Its approach is based on partnership between rider and horse, with an emphasis on positive experiences, attentive contact and cooperation.
The organisation offers riding lessons, pony rides and horse boarding, as well as camps, teambuilding activities and celebrations. Lessons are adapted to the rider’s size and ability and include 45 minutes of riding, followed by time for grooming and handling. Helmets and protective vests are available to borrow and are required for safety. First-time visitors may ride with a trainer or have their skills assessed before going on an outing.
The horses live in a free-roaming arrangement, with access to outdoor space throughout the day and shelter when they choose, supporting a more natural way of life.
