Kopalni Bochnia

Bochnia Salt Mine is a historic visitor attraction and UNESCO-listed site, described as Poland’s oldest rock salt mine. Its underground workings, chapels and visitor experiences reflect nearly 800 years of mining history. The mine offers guided routes for individual visitors, school groups and organised parties, with options tailored to different interests and needs.

Tours combine historic passageways with multimedia exhibitions, while selected itineraries add a boat crossing through a flooded salt chamber or a walk along the historic Horse Road. The “Salt Witness” route explores previously inaccessible workings, and accessible and multisensory options are available for visitors with disabilities and their companions. Families can choose a story-led tour, while schools can book educational and integration programmes.

Other experiences include overnight stays underground, visits to the Ważyn Chamber and seasonal events. Attractions include an underground mining train, a 140-metre slide, a sports court and a children’s play area. Visitors can check tour schedules and prices and book tickets online; the site notes that online prices may be lower than at the ticket office
