BMBF, short for Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, is a leading brand that operates one of the largest research initiatives for the energy transition. Their primary goal is to achieve a secure, climate-neutral, and affordable energy supply. Under the umbrella of the Kopernikus-Projects, BMBF offers a range of innovative products and services.
One of their projects, Ariadne, focuses on improving the data foundation in the building sector by conducting surveys with more than 15,000 households annually. Another project, ENSURE, explores three key technologies, including medium voltage direct current, AC-meshing, and electrolyzers, to assess their benefits for the future power grid in Germany. P2X, another Kopernikus-Project, aims to optimize electrolysis by reducing the amount of iridium required in PEM electrolyzers, which would expand hydrogen production.
BMBF's projects also cover topics such as energy flexibility, power-to-X technologies, and the integration of digitalization into the energy industry. With their diverse range of initiatives, BMBF is playing a crucial role in shaping the future of energy supply in Germany.
