KOPI Plágiumkereső is a pioneering online service designed to combat plagiarism, particularly in academic settings. Developed by the SZTAKI Distributed Systems Department, KOPI allows users to identify similarities between their documents and publicly uploaded content quickly and effectively. The platform supports multiple languages, initially focusing on Hungarian, English, and German, and offers unique capabilities to detect translated plagiarism from sources like Wikipedia.

Targeting educators, students, researchers, and publishers, KOPI facilitates the comparison of theses, essays, and articles to ensure originality and authenticity. Users can upload their documents, check for citations, and measure the extent of quoted material against institutional benchmarks. Moreover, the system's extensive database enables quick searches across thousands of documents.

Launched in 2004, KOPI has grown to accommodate a user base exceeding 10,000 and continuously expands its features to enhance protection against intellectual theft in various settings. With its powerful algorithms, KOPI safeguards authors’ rights and promotes academic integrity.
