About KCCNY
KCCNY is a brand that offers a wide range of products and services related to Korean culture. Through their programs and events, they aim to promote and showcase various aspects of Korean life, society, culture, tourism, history, government, economy, and more. They provide opportunities for visitors to experience and understand Korea through performing arts, exhibitions, visual arts, films, cuisine, K-pop, and online events.
One of the key areas that KCCNY focuses on is clothing and fashion. Korea's unique natural conditions have influenced the development of distinctive clothing materials and styles. Korean people have utilized materials such as hemp, ramie, cotton, and silk to create clothing that is not only attractive but also provides effective protection in extreme weather conditions.
The traditional Korean attire, hanbok, has maintained its traditional features while evolving with the times. Hanbok is now gaining global recognition for its unique style and beauty, thanks to popular culture influences such as K-pop music videos and Korean dramas. In addition to clothing, KCCNY also highlights the importance of food in Korean culture.
The Korean people believe in the idea that food is the best medicine, and this belief has shaped traditional Korean medicine and the development of various fermented foods. Traditional fermented foods such as soybean paste, soy sauce, chili paste, and fermented fish sauce are essential elements of Korean cuisine. The process of fermentation helps food mature and enhances its flavor and preservation.
KCCNY educates visitors about the traditional fermentation process and the significance of these food items in Korean culinary traditions. Overall, KCCNY offers a comprehensive platform where visitors can explore and engage with different facets of Korean culture, from clothing to food, while gaining a deeper understanding of Korea's rich history and traditions
