Koszary

Fundacja Koszary – Przywróćmy Pamięć is a foundation based in Garwolin, Poland, bringing together people committed to preserving and sharing the history of the town and the surrounding Garwolin region. Its work is grounded in the belief that local history belongs to everyone: families, neighbours, residents, and people who lived in or passed through the area across generations. The foundation’s central aim is to create a place in Garwolin dedicated to commemorating the city’s past and the people connected to it.

The organisation researches local heritage and makes historical knowledge accessible through news, articles, and publications. Its projects include the Rocznik Garwoliński, an annual collection of regional history; a recent edition features 330 pages and 26 historical articles. The foundation also shares archival discoveries, including material about the Hordliczka family and the Czechy glassworks and crystal factory. Alongside its heritage work, it supports community initiatives, such as a student-led project encouraging young people to read. Through research, publishing, remembrance, and partnership, Fundacja Koszary helps strengthen ties to Garwolin’s shared past.
