About 耕三寺博物館
Kosanji Temple, nestled in Setoda, is a renowned cultural site founded by the Osaka businessman Kozo Kosanji as a tribute to maternal love and gratitude. Often referred to as the "Mother's Temple," it serves as a spiritual haven where visitors can honor familial bonds. The temple features an impressive array of structures inspired by historical Buddhist architecture, reminiscent of the Nara and Heian periods. In 2003, 15 of these buildings were designated as Important Cultural Properties.
Adjacent to the temple is the Kosanji Museum, opened in 1953 and recognized as a national registered museum. It showcases an extensive collection of Buddhist art, tea ceremony artifacts, and modern artworks, with rotating exhibitions that highlight significant cultural treasures.
Visitors can explore the temple grounds and museum while enjoying the tranquil ambiance. Facilities also include a café, shop, and gallery, providing a holistic experience that blends spirituality and art appreciation. With a commitment to preserving Japanese culture, Kosanji Temple invites guests to discover its rich heritage and serene environment.
