Energie SaarLorLux, operating the Kraftwerke at Römerbrücke, has been providing Saarbrücken residents with reliable, eco-friendly district heating and highly-efficient electricity since the 1960s. Their commitment to "Energy from the region, for the region" is evident in their operations. The construction of the Heizkraftwerk in 1964 marked the beginning, culminating in 2022 with the completion of the Gasmotorenkraftwerk GAMOR and Saarbrücken's coal phase-out.
