About Kriegsmarine Archiv
KMA – k. u. k.
Kriegsmarine Archiv is a Vienna-based association dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Austrian and Austro-Hungarian navies. Founded in 2010, the organization provides a home for collections that might otherwise remain in private hands, making historical materials accessible to the public and researchers. Its archive gathers books, photographs, ship models, uniforms, diaries, letters, and other maritime artifacts.
A specialist library supports research, while the association documents and explores naval history through projects, talks, events, and marine-history exhibitions. KMA also publishes research in books and in its journal, Die Wiener Flagge, and makes travel accounts and diary editions available through its Blue Series. Visitors can learn about the Habsburg monarchy’s maritime past at the archive and during public events, including Vienna’s Long Night of Museums.
The association welcomes members, supporters, collectors, and maritime enthusiasts to take part in its activities and help sustain its work. Its offerings also include boutique items inspired by the k. u.
k. Kriegsmarine, such as caps, buttons, textiles, and flags
