C.V. De krooshappers

De Krooshappers is a Dutch carnival association founded in 1974, based in Boskoop. Growing from local youth evenings, it has developed into a community organisation with around 100 active committee members, organising approximately ten events each year for about 700 members and supporters. Its programme includes carnival parties, a masked ball, family events, discos, themed evenings and a large annual parade. Events are held at Flora, and membership options provide access to the association’s evenings, with separate rates for young people aged 16–17 and adults aged 18 and over.

The association’s celebrations are supported by a close-knit network of performers and volunteers. Its court band, the Baggerbeugels, plays at carnival events, while the Donderkopjes and Spetters dance groups perform traditional and themed routines. A Raad van 11 supports the Prince and his court ladies, and the volunteer-led Senate organises the events and parade. Alongside entertainment, Krooshappers has a strong social focus, including visits to a care centre and personal visits to people who are ill or unable to attend.
