Krakowskie Stowarzyszenie Obrony Zwierząt

Krakowskie Stowarzyszenie Obrony Zwierząt (Krakow Animal Protection Association) is a volunteer-led nonprofit dedicated to protecting homeless, abandoned, sick, elderly, abused and suffering animals. Active since 2015, the association works to prevent cruelty and promote respect for animal rights. Its practical support includes adoption campaigns, with a focus on dogs and cats, and temporary foster homes where animals receive care, treatment and preparation for adoption. The group stays in regular contact with adopters and shares updates about animals’ lives in their new homes.

The association also intervenes in suspected animal abuse, reports offences to the authorities, and provides educational and public information on animal welfare. Its advocacy includes campaigning against horse-drawn tourist carriages in Krakow, as well as initiatives concerning fur farming, wildlife protection and other animal-welfare issues. Members are volunteers, and the association says it has no paid positions. Krakowskie Stowarzyszenie Obrony Zwierząt is a registered public-benefit organisation that welcomes donations, including 1.5% of personal income tax, to support its animal-protection work.
