Kincardine Scottish

The Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band is a community-focused musical organization that has brought traditional Scottish piping to Kincardine, Ontario, since 1948. Each summer, the band invites residents and visitors to gather in Victoria Park for its Saturday-night parade, scheduled at 8:00 p.m. from June 27 to September 5. The band also hosts the annual Gathering of the Bands and supports the Phantom Piper, who plays from the lighthouse on summer evenings, except Saturdays, to pipe down the sun.

Beyond public performances, the organization shares information about its history, events, instruction, and pipe-band tunes. Its members wear the Kincardine Tartan, with support from local businesses, community members, contributions to the Wishing Well, and the Friends of the Kincardine Scottish. Friends can contribute $100 to receive a tax receipt, an early invitation to the annual Robbie Burns Dinner in January, and the band’s appreciation. Through performances, gatherings, and community support, the band helps sustain a distinctive local tradition and welcomes people to take part.
