About Kulttuurivihkot
Kulttuurivihkot is a highly regarded Finnish culture magazine that is published six times a year. It covers a wide range of topics, including news, articles, reviews, essays, fiction, photography, and comics. The magazine focuses on grassroots cultural work and social activism.
While it has a left-leaning societal perspective, it maintains its independence from any political party affiliations. Founded in 1973 by the Culture Workers League, Kulttuurivihkot became a prominent cultural publication for the Finnish left. When the league disbanded in the early 1990s, Kulttuurivihkot continued as an independent magazine.
It is now published by the Helsinki-based company Domirola Oy, which is owned by the editorial staff of Kulttuurivihkot. With thought-provoking content that explores various art forms and societal issues, Kulttuurivihkot offers a unique and insightful perspective on Finnish culture and social activism
