About Kuma International
Kuma International is a renowned brand that serves as an international research center, specializing in aesthetics in the aftermath of war, war memories, and identity. With a focus on diaspora, it provides Bosnian artists from around the world a platform to gather, be seen, and receive support for their artistic projects. As the first research center of its kind, Kuma International is dedicated to visual arts and architecture from post-conflict societies, conducting extensive research on war memories, trauma, and identity.
Believing in the power of art and education to bring about positive changes in people's consciousness, Kuma International fosters dialogue, civil society engagement, and democratic participation. Their multidisciplinary perspective and interdisciplinary approach enable them to host a diverse range of activities such as summer schools, exhibitions, workshops, artist's talks, research, and editorial projects.
