Förskolan Kungshuset is a parent cooperative preschool in Skövde, Sweden, focused on creating a welcoming, safe and enjoyable environment where children and adults can learn and develop together. The preschool has 36 places across two departments and is staffed by preschool teachers and childcare workers. Its central aim is for everyone in the community to feel secure, included and happy while taking part in everyday learning and activities.
Kungshuset is run as an economic association and gives parents opportunities to influence children’s daily experiences and surroundings. Members can contribute through practical work at shared cleaning days or by serving on the association’s board. This cooperative approach makes families active participants in the preschool community.
The preschool provides early childhood education and care, and shares information about applying for a place through its website. It also welcomes prospective families to open-house events, where visitors can learn more about the preschool and its setting. For enquiries, the site lists contact details for the headteacher and board chair.
