Kuopio Ski Club

Kuopio Ski Club is a Finnish alpine skiing club that brings together athletes, families, coaches, volunteers and supporters around the enjoyment of skiing. Its history reaches back to the 1930s, when its activities began as the slalom division of Puijon Hiihtoseura. The club became an independent association in 1996 as PHS Alppi, then joined with the alpine skiing division of Siilinjärven Ponnistus in 2015 to form today’s Kuopio Ski Club.

The club offers coaching and training for children and young people across several age-based groups, from introductory gate training for ages six to twelve to development and competition groups for older skiers. Activities continue year-round, with summer training focused on fitness and mobility and winter camps providing time on snow. Kuopio Ski Club also organises weekly races, evening competitions, race series events and larger alpine competitions, while its athletes take part in events hosted by other clubs. Through training, competitions, camps, meetings and social activities, the club supports skill development and a welcoming, community-oriented experience for skiers of different ages and abilities.
