Kurzmann Design

Christine and Jürgen Kurzmann create handcrafted opal jewellery from their goldsmith workshop in Pyrbaum, near Nuremberg. Working together since 1986, they combine creative design with skilled craftsmanship to make distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the natural character of each stone. Their collection includes opal rings, pendants, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and cuffs, as well as jewellery for men and drilled opals for leather cords or chains.

The makers specialise in Australian Boulder Opals and also work with other opal varieties, including white and black opals. They source their stones directly from mines and offer selected loose opals for collectors or customers planning a custom piece. Alongside ready-made designs, Kurzmann creates jewellery to individual specifications, including pieces made from stones supplied by customers.

Customers can arrange a personal consultation and visit by appointment, and jewellery is shipped securely as a valuables parcel. The studio’s approach centres on thoughtful service, natural materials and designs that highlight the opal’s colours and patterns
