Tukiliitto

Kehitysvammaisten Tukiliitto is a Finnish national human rights and civic organisation representing people with intellectual disabilities, people who need similar support, and their families. Its work is built around peer support and advocacy, with activities open to everyone regardless of diagnosis. The organisation works to ensure that people’s rights are realised in practice and that they receive the services and support they need to participate in society and live life on their own terms.

Tukiliitto provides practical information, guidance and resources on rights, services and everyday support, including housing, education, employment, communication, supported decision-making and personal assistance. It also offers legal advice, organises events, courses and training, and supports its local and regional member associations. Families can find peer support and information about participation and family-focused activities. The organisation promotes self-determination and influences legislation and the delivery of services. Its related offerings include Harvinaiskeskus Norio, which provides information, support and events, and Malike, which offers activities, materials and assistive equipment. People can participate through membership, events or donations.
