KVW Herten

Kindervakantiewerk Herten, known as KVW Herten, is a community organization that has organized an annual summer activity week for primary school children in Herten since 2003. Its goal is to bring children together for a week of sport, games, and adventure during the summer holidays. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21, with a closing celebration on Friday evening. Registration is planned from January 11 to January 25, 2026.

KVW Herten is supported by its KVW Familie team, working groups, volunteers, and sponsors. The organization’s website shares information about the upcoming program, registration, volunteer opportunities, and ways for families and young people to get involved. It also provides frequently asked questions and updates for participants and parents. Practical notices may address conditions affecting activities and outings, including hot weather, and the site includes information about social safety. KVW Herten offers a locally rooted way for children to enjoy an active holiday week, while families, volunteers, and supporters contribute to making the event possible.
