Kymenlaakson Selkäyhdistys

Kymenlaakson Selkäyhdistys ry is a Finnish back health and advocacy association founded in 1993 and affiliated with Selkäliitto ry. With approximately 470 members, it serves Kouvola and surrounding areas, including Kotka, Hamina and Iitti. The association works to maintain and improve members’ functional ability, prevent back conditions, and increase knowledge about back health, illnesses and their treatment.

Its activities include guided exercise groups in Kouvola, Valkeala and other parts of the region, as well as lectures, information events and back health evenings. Members can also take part in outdoor days, spa holidays, excursions and cultural trips, including visits to theatres, concerts and ballet performances. The association advocates for better access to and quality of back care and rehabilitation by engaging with local authorities, decision-makers and partners.

Membership includes Selkäliitto-negotiated benefits and the Hyvä Selkä magazine, published four times a year. Members also receive reduced prices for exercise sessions, trips and other activities. Kymenlaakson Selkäyhdistys welcomes people to join its active community
