About KYOTOGRAPHIE
KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival is a renowned international photography festival held in the cultural city of Kyoto, Japan. The festival takes pride in showcasing significant works and rare photo collections from Japan and around the world in historic and modern architectural settings. Collaborations with traditional artisans and cutting-edge technology further enhance the unique charm of the event. Founded in response to the 2011 East Japan earthquake, the festival aims to bridge the gap between Japan and the rest of the world through photography as a medium of expression.
In 2024, under the theme "SOURCE," KYOTOGRAPHIE will host 13 exhibitions across 12 venues, delving into the exploration of SOURCE and aspiring towards an alternative future. Co-founded and directed by Lucille Reyboz and Yusuke Nakanishi, the festival continues to evolve, bringing together diverse perspectives and fostering new creative endeavors. Join us in Kyoto, the city of tradition and innovation, to experience the beauty and significance of photography at KYOTOGRAPHIE.
