The City of Los Angeles Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) is a voluntary tax-advantaged governmental 457(b) plan designed to help employees save a portion of their salary for retirement. Members of the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS), Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions (LAFPP), or the Water & Power Employee Retirement Program (WPERP) are eligible to join. The DCP is supported by the City’s Board of Deferred Compensation Administration and offers a range of investment options, including pre-tax and Roth (after-tax) contributions.
Active employees, those nearing retirement, and retirees can benefit from the plan, which includes options such as loans, purchase service credit, Sworn (Police & Fire) Pension Savings Plan, and a beneficiary guide. The DCP also provides valuable resources such as a video library, blogs, and an Employee Assistance Program.
