Le Labo des histoires is a French nonprofit association founded in 2011 to make creative writing accessible to young people aged 6 to 25 and support their cultural and social inclusion. Recognised as an organisation of general interest, it holds approvals for complementary educational activities and youth and popular education from France’s Ministry of National Education and Youth. Its work centres on free creative writing workshops, with more than 3,000 sessions delivered each year across metropolitan and overseas France.
Activities are offered through 12 regional branches, including locations in Paris, Normandy, Grand Est, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Martinique, Réunion and French Guiana. The association also provides training for people who want to design and lead writing workshops or develop complete creative projects. Workshops are facilitated by writing professionals, including authors, screenwriters, lyricists and qualified activity leaders.
Through national and local projects, participants use writing and related creative forms to explore themes such as ecology, memory, community life and self-expression
