Laboratorio de Investigación para el Desarrollo del Ecuador (LIDE) is an independent and non-partisan research center that aims to promote evidence-based social policy formulation. Since its establishment in 2020, LIDE has focused on evaluating social policies and publishing scientific articles. We foster academic collaboration with governments, NGOs, and profit-oriented entities that seek to develop or implement scientifically rigorous development programs in Ecuador.

At LIDE, we are committed to improving equality and access to opportunities for impoverished populations. Thanks to the generous contribution of national and international donors, LIDE offers free vocational training and employability programs, especially for vulnerable communities in Ecuador. In 2023, LIDE provided 50 scholarships to economically disadvantaged women in Quito and Guayaquil to study business intelligence, with support from the US Embassy and Consulate in Ecuador and DataCamp.

With 5 published scientific articles, 2 executed social projects, and 7 active agreements, LIDE produces and disseminates scientific studies in various areas through scientific communication and media. We make the results of these studies available for use in policy-making.
