Parco Paduli

LUA (Laboratorio Urbano Aperto) is an urban and rural regeneration organisation based in Lecce, Italy. Its work focuses on participatory planning, bringing residents, stakeholders, and public authorities together to shape projects and places. LUA develops initiatives in the Parco Agricolo Multifunzionale dei Paduli, connecting local communities with the area’s landscape, agricultural heritage, and resources.

Its projects include workshops, cultural events, and practical activities that encourage sustainable ways of living and caring for the territory. “Nidificare i Paduli” offers workshops in building temporary, biodegradable shelters, while “La Terra Matta” addresses the problem of abandoned waste through a programme of events. Through RES.ORT, a rural cooking school, LUA explores local food, ingredients, and traditions, sharing knowledge through workshops and recipes. The organisation has also worked on landscape communication, including unconventional signage for the agricultural park, and on urban cultural initiatives in Lecce. Across these activities, LUA combines community participation, environmental awareness, design, and local culture to support the regeneration and appreciation of places.
