LABSud is Montpellier’s open-access fabrication laboratory, based at La Halle Tropisme. It brings together individuals and professionals who want to learn, develop ideas, make objects, and share skills in a collaborative environment. Members can access professional equipment after completing an introductory session focused on safe and proper machine use.

The workshop offers laser cutting and engraving, 3D printing with filament or resin, CNC milling, and digital embroidery. Its training and activities also cover sewing, electronics, T-shirt printing, and design software such as Illustrator. Introductory sessions are reserved for members, with a stated contribution of €10 per training session, or €20 for the CNC session that includes an additional hour.

LABSud supports practical projects, creative experimentation, and peer learning, with guidance to help members use the equipment. Its community shares interests ranging from Arduino and drones to aquaponics and digital fabrication. The organisation also publishes project news and hosts activities, workshops, and events. LABSud is open Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is closed on weekends.
