About LAC-IX
LAC-IX is the Association of Latin America and Caribbean Internet Exchange Points (IXPs). As a member of the IX-Federation, a global organization facilitating interaction between associations of IXPs in other regions, LAC-IX promotes traffic exchange in the region. Their primary focus is on developing new IXPs and supporting the growth of existing ones.
LAC-IX coordinates the IXP group, facilitating the exchange of experiences and best practices among members. They organize the Latin America and Caribbean Peering Forum, bringing together technical community organizations for discussions on internet collaboration. LAC-IX collaborates with other internet organizations in the region on various projects such as RPKI, MANRs, and Root Servers.
Operating from the Casa de Internet de América Latina y el Caribe, LAC-IX shares a common goal of utilizing the internet as a tool for regional development. Located in Montevideo, Uruguay, LAC-IX serves as a hub for organizations dedicated to promoting internet connectivity and advancement in the region
