Lacanau Escalade is a climbing club based in Lacanau, France, affiliated with the French Federation of Mountain and Climbing (FFME). Founded in 2018 after the local middle-school gymnasium was equipped with an indoor climbing wall, the club welcomes children, teenagers and adults, from beginners to experienced climbers. It offers climbing courses for each age group, along with opportunities to take part in outings, events and club activities.
Members can use the climbing wall and develop their skills in a supportive sporting setting. The club presents climbing as a way to improve coordination, balance, body awareness and concentration, while building strength and confidence through progressive challenges. Its website also features club news, a calendar, photo galleries and information about registration and fees.
Lacanau Escalade invites members and supporters to contribute donations, including from those who join partway through the year or simply enjoy the club’s activities. Donations help fund new climbing holds and the replacement of shared ropes, harnesses and belay devices, supporting the upkeep of equipment made available to climbers
