Vox. LACEA is the brand associated with the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA), an esteemed international association of economists dedicated to the study of Latin America. Founded in July 1992, LACEA aims to foster professional interaction and promote dialogue among researchers and practitioners focusing on the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean.

With an impressive annual membership of approximately 1000 active participants, LACEA organizes annual meetings in various cities across the region, providing a platform for young and seasoned economists to exchange ideas. To facilitate collaboration, LACEA sponsors ten networks specializing in capacity-building in areas such as inequality and poverty, political economy, trade, and more. Additionally, LACEA publishes its own journal, Economia, which just released its twenty-second issue.

Furthermore, LACEA has extended its commitment to supporting women economists in the region with the establishment of WELAC (Women Economists in Latin America and the Caribbean).
