La Chiocciola Garlasco

La Chiocciola APS is a volunteer association founded in Garlasco, in the province of Pavia, Italy, on September 7, 2015. Built around friendship, mutual support and community involvement, it accompanies people with disabilities and their families through services focused on inclusion, wellbeing and greater independence. Its approach puts each person, their aspirations and individuality at the centre.

The association operates two welcoming facilities in Garlasco: a 350-square-metre headquarters set within extensive green grounds, with a garden, educational farm, agricultural area and small wood, and a 200-square-metre residence offering residential and respite care. Services include a weekday Day Centre for personalised educational, creative, social, recreational and sports activities, as well as pet therapy. Its Autonomy Training Service supports people with mild or moderate disabilities in developing everyday and social skills, self-confidence and self-determination. The experimental “Art of Living” programme uses creative and multidisciplinary activities, including after-school support and a summer camp. Residential and emergency respite assistance is also available, alongside gradual preparation for “After Us” projects.
