LACI asbl is the Lëtzebuerger Associatioun vun de Cochlear Implantéierten, representing the interests of hearing-impaired individuals, both children and adults, who can hear again thanks to a cochlear implant (CI). A cochlear implant consists of an electrode implanted into the cochlea and a speech processor worn above the ear. Integrated microphones in the speech processor convert sound into electrical impulses, which are transmitted to the implanted electrodes and the auditory nerve, allowing the brain to recognize them as sounds and speech.

The LACI asbl provides information, advice, and support to CI users and their families, as well as opportunities for exchange, rehabilitation, creative workshops, conferences, cultural events, and leisure activities. All activities are organized in collaboration with the Consultation Center for Hearing-Impaired and the umbrella organization Solidarität mit Hörgeschädigten.
