Lac Long Pond

The Association du lac Long Pond is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the natural character and ecological health of Lac Long Pond in Bolton-Est, in Quebec’s Eastern Townships. The lake is a headwater lake that flows into Lac Trousers, which in turn drains into the Missisquoi River. The association works to identify and recommend actions and responsible practices that support the health of the lake and its tributaries. It also raises awareness among residents, with attention to local wildlife and plant life, applicable laws, and environmental best practices.

The association shares information through activity reports, meeting minutes, environmental documentation, news articles, and updates about lake initiatives. Recent topics include washing watercraft to limit the spread of invasive species, a planned project to control colonies of common reed, and an educational presentation about the common loon. Membership is open to eligible lakeside property owners and co-owners, as well as adult residents of those properties, including spouses, relatives, and tenants, upon payment of the annual fee set by the board.
