La Condesa is a modern Mexican restaurant and bar in Austin’s 2nd Street District, bringing together the flavors of Mexico City and the character of Austin. Led by Executive Chef Rick Lopez, the restaurant serves interior Mexican dishes made with seasonal produce sourced from local farmers and house-made masa. Its farm-to-table approach includes making masa entirely in-house, with an emphasis on the cultural importance of corn.
La Condesa has been recommended by the MICHELIN Guide, including in 2024 and 2025, and has received two James Beard nominations: as a semi-finalist for Outstanding Restaurant in 2023 and for Best New Restaurant in 2010. The bar is known for an extensive collection of 100% blue agave tequila and mezcal.
