La Courtine 1917 is an association dedicated to documenting and sharing the history of the Russian Expeditionary Corps in France, with particular attention to the 1917 mutiny at La Courtine in the Creuse region. It connects the story of the Russian soldiers who revolted there with broader themes of war, pacifism, dissent, and the experiences of deserters and conscientious objectors. The association offers historical timelines, accounts of combat and repression, biographies, translated testimonies, articles, and a glossary of resources.
Its website also features video documentaries, podcasts, conference recordings, press coverage, photographs, and freely accessible historical documents and past issues of Les Cahiers de La Courtine 1917. Through publications, events, exhibitions, commemorations, and educational materials, La Courtine 1917 helps preserve and share this history with researchers, teachers, families, and the public. The association also welcomes information and personal materials from descendants of Russian soldiers who served in France between 1916 and 1920, including letters, photographs, diaries, and travel accounts
