La Finestra is a social cooperative based in Malnate, in the province of Varese, Italy. Founded as an association in 1984 to combat the social exclusion of people with disabilities, it now provides social care, educational and training support. Its approach places each person at the centre of an individual development project, recognising their needs, abilities, wishes and potential while encouraging greater independence and participation.
The cooperative offers a range of workshops and activities designed to support personal growth and social inclusion. These include cognitive activities, personal autonomy training, assembly work, artistic projects and sports. La Finestra also has a residence and organises events and shared experiences for participants and the local community. Its programmes are supported by volunteers, who can contribute to activities as educators or in other roles.
