About La GEMME
La Gemme is a local currency that promotes the local economy and ecological transition in the Gironde department (33) of France. It is also available as a digital currency through the eGemme application. La Gemme is accepted by over 250 businesses, associations, local authorities, independent professionals, and artisans who believe in supporting a local, ethical, and environmentally-friendly economy.
Starting in 2023, the new Gemme notes will gradually replace the Miel and Ostréa notes. However, the old Miel and Ostréa notes will continue to be valid in participating businesses until the end of 2023. With the eGemme application, it is easy to make payments using Gemme on your mobile phone.
