La Ginestra 1988

Cooperativa Sociale La Ginestra 1988 Onlus is an Italian social cooperative dedicated to supporting the autonomy and social inclusion of people with intellectual, physical, and functional disabilities. Its work focuses on helping adults develop a sense of identity, strengthen their abilities, and achieve the greatest possible independence.

The cooperative manages two daytime occupational centres, La Ginestra and Il Tesoro, as well as an autonomy project. Through educational, rehabilitative, creative, craft, and social activities, the centres help participants maintain or develop functional skills and connect with their local community. La Ginestra places particular emphasis on preparing participants for employment, including through assembly work carried out for businesses. Il Tesoro offers person-centred care and occupational and creative programmes, with individual and group activities that support emotional awareness and expression.

The cooperative also provides personal assistance and programmes to build skills for everyday life. Participant placements are arranged in collaboration with the local health service’s disability team and families. La Ginestra invites private donations and support through Italy’s 5×1000 tax allocation programme.
