La Guilde de l’Histoire is an association based in Vénéjan, in France’s Gard department, dedicated to promoting local history and heritage. It brings the past of the Gard rhodanien to life through historical performances spanning periods from antiquity to the present day. Its productions include 1380, l’âge de la révolte, 1632, l’âge de la trahison, La Nuit des Temps, and Entre Histoire et Légendes.
Combining research, storytelling, costumes, sets, and live performance, the shows invite audiences to discover the region’s history in an engaging, immersive way, often in historic or natural settings. The association also offers events such as unusual visits, heritage activities, and special programmes, with dates and ticketing information available through its event agenda. Around fifty volunteers contribute onstage and behind the scenes, creating costumes, props, and scenery in a welcoming, family-oriented community.
